The Trump administration is recalling almost 30 diplomats from the posts of ambassadors and other leadership positions in embassies, seeking to change the diplomatic position of the United States abroad and appoint personnel who fully support the priorities of the president within the framework of the "America First" policy, writes the Associated Press.
According to two representatives of the US State Department, who wished to remain anonymous, due to the discussion of internal personnel decisions, last week the heads of diplomatic missions in at least 29 countries were informed that their powers will end in January.
In particular, ambassadors will be recalled from a number of countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Armenia is also included in this list.
The US Senate approved the candidacy of Kristina Kvien for the post of US Ambassador to Armenia in December 2022.
