YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. US investments for preparatory work under the TRIPP project have already reached a preliminary $140 million, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced.

Following their January 13 meeting in Washington, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a joint statement on the framework for implementing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP). The document defines the general mechanism for launching the project, which aims to establish seamless multimodal transit connectivity through Armenia, including connecting the mainland of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Region and integrating it into the Trans-Caspian Trade Route.

"As for specific investments, they will depend on specific projects. But it's clear that the investments will be large. Today, no one can tell you the investment volume. Let's say a railway needs to be built. How much will it cost? How much investment is needed? Expert assessments can be made, but this requires technical and economic calculations, a project, and so on," Pashinyan said at a briefing on Thursday.

According to him, only after this will the cost of each individual project be determined.

The day before, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan answered a question about why Armenia will only own 26% of the shares of TRIPP Development Company, which will develop the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project. He stated that the United States is making large investments, while the Republic of Armenia's main investment is the development rights.
