USAID ready to expand cooperation with Armenia
YEREVAN, January 19. /ARKA/. Director of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power at a meeting with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos reaffirmed readiness to expand cooperation with Armenia, Khachaturyan's press service reported.
It said the sides exchanged views on the implementation of the agreements reached between the Armenian government and USAID. They also highly assessed the nearly three decades of close cooperation between Armenia and USAID and emphasized the importance of steps to deepen the targeted interaction.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the situation in the South Caucasus region and the existing humanitarian challenges. The results of Power's recent visit to the region were touched upon.
President Khachaturyan once again emphasized Armenia's principled position on achieving a stable and lasting peace and noted that there is no alternative to the peace process. -0-
