YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. A delegation led by the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

She was met at the Yerevan Zvartnots Airport by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan.

As reported on the website of the Federation Council, Matviyenko is scheduled to meet with the country's leadership. In particular, a conversation with the Chairman of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan is planned.

Matviyenko and Simonyan will also open the 39th meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission on Cooperation between the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. The main topic is "The 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory: Unity in Protecting Historical Memory for Future Generations." On the same day, the Chairperson of the Federation Council will take part in the Tenth Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum. A number of heads of constituent entities of the Federation are expected to speak at the plenary session. -0-
