Validity of housing certificates for Artsakh refugees extended until the end of 2028 - Armenia's Ministry of Social Affairs

The validity of housing certificates under the state assistance program for families of refugees from Karabakh has been extended until December 31, 2028, the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported.
YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. The validity of housing certificates under the state assistance program for families of refugees from Karabakh has been extended until December 31, 2028, the Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs reported.
According to the ministry, 2,823 families have received certificates under this program so far, 903 of which have already used their certificates.
The Ministry of Social Affairs reminded that program beneficiaries can use one of the following assistance methods:
1) issuance of a certificate for the purchase of an apartment (the right to purchase an apartment in a building under construction) or an individual residential building,
2) issuance of a certificate for the construction of an individual residential building,
3) assistance in repaying an existing mortgage loan.
The program provides 3 to 5 million drams per family member.
Families eligible for assistance include those who:
* were forced to leave their homes after September 27, 2020,
* are citizens of the Republic of Armenia,
* do not own property,
* are not beneficiaries of state support programs to provide affordable housing to families forced to leave certain areas of Karabakh or to provide housing to families in border settlements.
On Azerbaijan's Ethnic Cleansing of Artsakh
On September 19-20, 2023, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale aggression against Artsakh using artillery, UAVs, and combat aircraft. On September 28, following negotiations with the Azerbaijani side, Artsakh President Samvel Shahramanyan issued a decree dissolving all state institutions in the republic and declaring the Republic of Artsakh to cease to exist as of January 1, 2024.
Residents of Artsakh were forced to flee their homeland and move to Armenia. According to the Armenian government, more than 115,000 Artsakh residents have been registered, and assistance programs are in place.-0-
