Vice governor and two deputy ministers, Prosperous Armenia party members, dismissed on their own requests

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan signed a decree on the dismissal of Vice Governor of Lori region Edik Karakhanyan, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Romik Tigranyan and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Vardan Karapetyan from their positions on their own requests, the Government of Armenia reported Saturday.

YEREVAN, July 30. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan signed a decree on the dismissal of Vice Governor of Lori region Edik Karakhanyan, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Romik Tigranyan and Deputy Minister of Agriculture Vardan Karapetyan from their positions on their own requests, the Government of Armenia reported Saturday.
All of them are the members of Prosperous Armenia Party that didn’t join the new coalition summoned following the parliamentary elections of May 6.
Vanik Asatryan is appointed a new Vice Governor of Lori region.
On May 24 Prosperous Armenia Party’s leader Gagik Tsarukyan said in a statement his party doesn’t find it rational to form a coalition government as it doesn’t have any constitutional opportunity to implement its programs.
On May 6 elections the Prosperous Armenia Party received 30,12% of votes (454, 673 votes) and 37 seats (28 under proportional, and 9- majoritarian vote) in 131-seat parliament
The Republican Party of Armenia won the majority of votes, receiving 44.02% (664, 440 votes). The third place was given to opposition block Armenian National Congress- 7.08% (106, 903).
Five-percent barrier was overcome by oppositional Heritage (5.76% or 86, 998 votes) and Dashnaktsutyun (5.67% or 85, 550) as well as coalition Otinats Yerkir – 5.51% or 83, 123 votes.
