Vitaly Balasanyan nominated for 2020 Artsakh presidential election

A former Secretary of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan said last week he was going to run for the post of Artsakh president in the election, scheduled for 2020.

YEREVAN, December 2, /ARKA/. A former Secretary of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Security Council Vitaly Balasanyan said last week he was going to run for the post of Artsakh president in the election, scheduled for 2020.
According to Artsakhpress, Balasanyan was nominated by the Justice Party that convened for an extraordinary session in Artsakh capital city Stepanakert.
The co-founder of the party Hakob Hakobyan told his party fellows that Balasanyan has the skills, knowledge and experience of a manager and a leader and is able to make and realize fateful and accurate decisions.
Balasanyan, a veteran of the Karabakh war, said he was entering the political struggle for the solidarity and unity of the people and the dignity of the Artsakh.
Earlier, the Artsakh Democratic Party had nominated the party chairman, speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly, Ashot Ghulyan, as a candidate for the polls.
Other presidential candidates are Masis Mayilyan, the Foreign Minister of Artsakh and Araik Harutyunyan, former Minister of State of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and head of the Free Homeland Party.
The current President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakyan, said in 2018 June he would not participate in the 2020 election. -0-
