Volodin: Armenian and Russian parliaments to expand circle of relations

Armenian and Russian parliaments are planning to expand the circle of their relations and cooperation, the chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower parliament chamber) Vyacheslav Volodin, who has arrived in Armenia today on an official visit, said at a meeting with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan.

YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. Armenian and Russian parliaments are planning to expand the circle of their relations and cooperation, the chairman of the Russian State Duma (lower parliament chamber) Vyacheslav Volodin, who has arrived in Armenia today on an official visit, said at a meeting with Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan.

Volodin was quoted as saying by Sargsyan’s press service that the heads of Duma committees, who have also arrived in Yerevan, will meet with Armenian counterparts to discuss issues of mutual interest.

Sargsyan was said to have congratulated Volodin on taking office of parliament chairman wishing him success and expressed confidence that Volodin’s experience will contribute to the development of Armenian-Russian relations. 

Noting that April 3 will mark the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia Sargsyan stressed that it will be a good opportunity to take stock and assess bilateral relations as well as designate new directions for the future. -0-
