Volume of cargo transportation grows 6.9% in Armenia in jan-aug 2012 compared to 8.2% average increase in CIS

The volume of cargo transportation, transport companies excluded (without pipelines), grew by 6.9% in Armenia in January-August 2012, as compared with the same period of 2011, the CIS Statistical Committee reports.
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARKA/. The volume of cargo transportation, transport companies excluded (without pipelines), grew by 6.9% in Armenia in January-August 2012, as compared with the same period of 2011, the CIS Statistical Committee reports.
According to the report, cargo transportation by transport companies alone grew by an average of 8.2% in CIS countries over the reporting period.
Kazakhstan showed the highest increase in the volume of cargo transportation, 17.6%. The growth percentages recorded for other CIS countries are as follows: 9.3% for Kyrgyzstan, 8.3% for Turkmenistan, 7.4% for Azerbaijan, 4.8% fro Uzbekistan, 3.7% for Russia, 0.5% for Ukraine and 0.2% for Tajikistan.
The decline recorded in Belarus and Moldova was 1.3% and 2.9% respectively. –0—
