Voskanyan stated the need to put the Armenian Armed Forces on combat alert amid the Israeli-Iranian escalation
YEREVAN, June 13. /ARКА/. The Armenian Armed Forces must be put on combat alert appropriate to the situation, said Vardan Voskanyan, head of the Department of Iranian Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University.
Israel attacked Iran at night, killing five people and injuring 20. There is destruction in various areas.
“What should Armenia do as a priority in the current extreme tension in the Middle East, which creates additional security threats for our state?” Voskanyan asked.
According to him, “in the domestic agenda, the authorities should take the path of establishing public agreement, since there is no task more important than the security of our state and nation.”
Voskanyan stated that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia must be put on combat alert appropriate to the situation, especially amid the Azerbaijani-Turkish exercises taking place in Nakhichevan.
"It is necessary to begin coordination with allied states through closed channels. Constant communication should be maintained with the Iranian side through diplomatic and security channels," Voskanyan noted.
