YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. Cooperation with Armenia is very important for the USA, the US co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh, James Warlick, said in an interview with Russian news agency Interfax.
He said cooperation with Armenia is very important for the USA not only in the area of his responsibility as a co-chair of the Minsk Group, but also in matters of economy and investments.
Warlick added that Americans have participated in peacekeeping missions around the world. "All these are areas in which we cooperate and build relationships for the future", he said.
Commenting on the information that the US Embassy in Yerevan is one of the biggest American diplomatic missions in the world, Warlick said that this information needs to be clarified.
He said he had read about it, but he does not think so. ‘It is necessary to specify the information to provide you with specific figures, but in my experience, our presence in Armenia is not different from all the embassies of medium in size in other countries, " the diplomat said.
Warlick said that he served as ambassador to Bulgaria and, according to him, the US Embassy in Armenia, probably has even less American and local staff than in Bulgaria.
"I have read reports which claimed that the embassy in Armenia is very large, but in fact, it meets the US standards for the average size embassy," - he said, adding that the embassy size does not reflect the size of mutual relations.-0--
