What is happening in Artsakh looks like genocide: says Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo

YEREVAN, August 30. /ARKA/. "The Armenians of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are under blockade not of their own free will and their blockade is a violation of international law and the ceasefire agreement of November 9, 2020,’ Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo said Wednesday calling what is happening in Artsakh a genocide.
Anne Hidalgo has arrived in Armenia to escort a convoy with humanitarian aid collected in France for the population of Artsakh. The convoy has already reached the village of Kornidozr, which is near the entrance to Lachin corridor, the only road connecting Karabakh and Armenia, which has been blocked by Azerbaijan for more than 8 months now.
'And since it is necessary to speak clearly and use appropriate words, what is happening in Artsakh is like genocide," Hidalgo said. She noted that the message is clear: international law must be respected.
"We have collected 10 trucks of aid with mostly non-perishable foodstuffs, baby food, milk powder, generators and solar panels - everything that will allow the Karabakh residents to hold out," said Anne Hidalgo.
Earlier, on June 26, the Armenian government sent 361 tons of humanitarian aid to Nagorno-Karabakh. However, the convoy of trucks has been standing since then at the entrance to the Lachin corridor in the village of Kornidzor.
Azerbaijan has essentially blocked their entry into Nagorno-Karabakh. On August 9, the first humanitarian aid truck from France also joined the convoy of trucks with humanitarian aid sent by Armenia. -0-
