Yerevan again denies Baku's report on shelling in the southeastern section of the border

The report from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense stating that, allegedly, on March 31 at around 11:10, units of the Armed Forces of Armenia (RA) opened fire on Azerbaijani positions located in the southeastern section of the border is false, according to a statement from the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

YEREVAN, April 1. /ARКА/. The report from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense stating that, allegedly, on March 31 at around 11:10, units of the Armed Forces of Armenia (RA) opened fire on Azerbaijani positions located in the southeastern section of the border is false, according to a statement from the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

The ministry recalled that the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia had proposed establishing a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate incidents of ceasefire violations and/or related information. However, Azerbaijan has not yet responded to this proposal.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia confirmed that, in line with the position of the Prime Minister's Office, it is ready to investigate any facts supporting the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense's statement, provided these are shared with the Armenian side,” the statement read.

Earlier on Monday, the Armenian Ministry of Defense also reported that the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense's claim that, from 22:30 on March 30 to 04:35 on March 31, units of the RA Armed Forces opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the eastern and southeastern sections of the border is false.

Additionally, it was reported that on March 31, at approximately 00:50, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire towards the village of Khnatsakh (in the Syunik region), resulting in damage to a residential building. There were no casualties
