Yerevan and Moscow discussed migration and media issues

YEREVAN, May 21. /ARKA/. Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov discussed migration and media issues. Mirzoyan said this at a joint press conference with Lavrov in Yerevan.
"This visit provides an opportunity to discuss sensitive issues that concern our societies. Noticeable changes in the migration sphere and their discussion are important. We must make efforts to ensure that these changes do not have a negative impact on the activities of our citizens and our friendly ties," Mirzoyan said.
According to him, issues related to the media sphere were also discussed, in particular, timely addressing of problems and ensuring mutual understanding and eliminating inappropriate and one-sided assessments.
In October 2023, a Russian program called "Nikol Pashinyan: Harbinger of Trouble" caused a great stir in Armenia. "The Dolls of the Heir Tutti", aired on the federal "First Channel".
On November 2, the Armenian Foreign Ministry handed over a note of protest to the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin in connection with the fact that offensive and unacceptable statements were made during the program about high-ranking officials of the Republic of Armenia. The Armenian Chargé d'Affaires was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the publications in the media.
The Armenian Ministry of High Technology Industry, which oversees the broadcasting sphere, stated that the Russian side acknowledged the fact of violations of a number of points of the Armenian-Russian agreement on cooperation in the field of broadcasting.
