Yerevan says Baku continues disinformation campaign about shelling on border

YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. The statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry that on March 18, between 16:40 and 18:30, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern part of the border zone is not true," the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.

The Armenian Defense Ministry once again reminded that the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia proposed the creation of a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate cases of ceasefire violations and/or related information. However, Azerbaijan has not yet responded to this proposal.

The Armenian Defense Ministry confirms that, in line with the position of the Office of the Prime Minister, it is ready to investigate any facts supporting the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense’s statement, should they be provided to the Armenian side.

"At the moment, the Republic of Azerbaijan has not provided the Republic of Armenia with any factual data or evidence of ceasefire violations by units of the Armenian Armed Forces," the statement said.

This is the ninth denial by the Armenian Defense Ministry of Azerbaijani reports of shooting at the border between March 16 and 18.
