YEREVAN, February 18. /ARKA/. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan voted at 1/17 polling station in Yerevan in Avan electoral district.

He said he voted for Armenia’s future, Yerevan Municipality said.

 “As the citizen of Armenia I have made my choice for the future of Armenia. Each person has his own vision of the future, and from this angle, being Mayor of Yerevan, I have made my choice for prosperity of the capital and Yerevan residents, in the name of sustaining the programs which we have implemented and will continue putting them into practice in favor of our state and nation,” Municipality quoted Margaryan.

He also added, in compliance with the legislature,  the City authorities had organized all the preparatory works for holding the vote.

Armenia’s presidential elections kicked off on February 18 at all polling stations at 8 a.m. sharp. 

Seven candidates are running for the country’s president today: incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, former prime minister and leader of Freedom party Hrant Bagratyan, former foreign minister and leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian, well-known Soviet dissident and leader of Union for National Self-Determination party Paruyr Hayrikyan, former foreign minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Arman Melikyan, political scientist and head of Radio Hay Andrias Ghukasyan and specialist in epic studies Vardan Sedrakyan.–0
