Yeritsyan not offered yet to run Armenian’s new ministry

Armenian Emergency Minister Armen Yeritsyan has received no proposals to head the new ministry, into which his ministry and the territorial administration ministry will merge.
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Emergency Minister Armen Yeritsyan has received no proposals to head the new ministry, into which his ministry and the territorial administration ministry will merge.
The Armenian Cabinet ministers unveiled today a package of amendments to the law on the structure of the government.
Under these amendments, the two mentioned ministries will merge and another one, the ministry of international economic integration and reforms, will be formed.
At its today’s regular meeting, the Cabinet found the matter urgent and sent the package to the National Assembly.
Yeritsyan said that the new appointment will be decided by the country’s prime minister and president.
“If this office will be offered to me, I will think over the offer,” he said adding that he had not been informed about these changes in the government’s structure.
The minister welcomed the reorganization saying that it would be more effectively to run the two ministries merged into one.
“The two ministries’ activities are quite compatible, since the emergency ministry fulfills various functions in provinces, closely cooperates with provincial authorities in various areas, including rescue and meteorological services, and is in constant contact with all communities,” he said.
The seat of the territorial administration minister has been remaining vacant since Armen Gevorgyan left the office in the middle of October. There are 18 ministries in Armenia now. --0-----
