YEREVAN, March 2. /ARKA/. Zharangutiun (Heritage) and Free Democrats opposition parties will run for seats in the parliament in a single bloc, Ararat Zurabyan, a member of Free Democrats, told journalists on Friday.

“It will likely be announced about the alliance at Free Democrats’ congress on March 11,” he said. “We’ll probably present then a list or principles of this list composition.”

In his words, the list has not been discussed yet, but parties will be guided by the 50-50 principle in composing it.

“A group will be set up after official statement for shaping the list and including other political forces and individuals in it,” Zurabyan said.

The 2012 parliamentary elections are scheduled for May.

Free Democrats party is founded by former members of Armenian National Movement led by former Armenian president, Levon Ter-Petrosyan in 1990s.

Zharangutiun, a liberal democratic party, was established by former foreign minister, Raffi Hovhannisyan in 2002. The party has six members in National Assembly now. -0---
