About 39.4 thousand ninth-graders and 20.5 thousand twelfth-graders are graduating from schools this year

In 2024, 39,406 ninth-graders will graduate from secondary school and 20,554 students will graduate from high school, Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araksia Svajyan told a press conference on Thursday.

YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA/. In 2024, 39,406 ninth-graders will graduate from secondary school and 20,554 students will graduate from high school, Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araksia Svajyan told a press conference on Thursday.
Svajyan emphasized the students of Armenia's Tavush region, who will be the first graduates to graduate in accordance with the new state criterion of general education.
"In accordance with the conducted experiment, the entire system of evaluation of 9th and 12th grade graduates was changed in Tavush schools. Also, the requirement to assess knowledge in 4th grades was canceled," Svajyan said.
She also said that about 17,000 children who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh are studying in Armenian schools.
"Everything was quickly organized so that the children were given the right to continue their education, even in case of lack of documents," Svajyan noted.
Earlier it was reported that a pilot project within the EU4Innovation STEM Project program, with a total budget of $4.63 million, is being implemented in schools in Tavush region.
Under the EU-funded project, fully equipped chemical, biological, geographical and ICT laboratories have appeared in 76 schools of Tavush. -0--
