About 55,000 apartments are under construction in Armenia – Pashinyan
YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. About 55,000 apartments are under construction in Armenia currently, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in the National Assembly today.
"This number makes about 6% of Armenia's ever-built housing stock and 12.2% of the housing stock in multi-apartment buildings. Since 1991, when Armenia became independent, housing construction has not been on such a scale, and today apartments are purchased not only by wealthy citizens, but also by the middle class, who got a chance to see the results of their labor," Pashinyan said while presenting the government's 2022 performance report
He said 29,197 people who have mortgages to buy homes are eligible to income tax refund which they use to pay the interest, by 8,277 more than a year ago.
At the same time, the prime minister said that the purchase and construction of housing shows that people believe in the government's peace agenda. -0-
