YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee  has announced the conclusion of the preliminary investigation into a criminal case involving an official from the Cadastre Committee and five other individuals.

The investigation revealed that a group of individual entrepreneurs — including a cartographer, a surveyor, and a land planner — conspired together, accepting a bribe from a citizen to manipulate the electronic records of unauthorized buildings within the Cadastre Committee's system in Artashat, located in the Ararat region. They allocated a portion of the bribe to an official responsible for facilitating the registration of these illegal structures.

Furthermore, it was discovered that these same entrepreneurs, with the help of a local designer and a former staff member from the urban planning and development department of the Artashat mayor's office, fabricated a false architectural design assignment intended for the creation of design documentation for a residential building and its ancillary structures. Six individuals have been charged in connection with this case.

An official from the Cadastre Committee faces accusations of accepting a bribe (Article 435 of the Criminal Code) and has been detained. Two entrepreneurs are charged with aiding in the giving and receiving of a bribe, as well as the production and distribution of counterfeit documents. One has been arrested, while the other is under house arrest. Additionally, charges have been filed against the citizen who provided the bribe and those who assisted in the creation of the counterfeit documents.

The case, along with the indictment, has been forwarded to the Anti-Corruption Court. It is important to note that a suspect or accused individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court ruling that has become legally binding, in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code.-0-
