Ardshinbank will grow the forest
ԵYEREVAN, October 16. /ARKA/. Ardshinbank employees took the initiative to plant and grow their own forest. In the message particular, says: "Ardshinbank, as the largest commercial bank in Armenia, is fully aware of the importance of its role in protecting the environment and supporting communities engaged in this important matter. We are proud to announce the launch of our reforestation expansion and restoration project. The project underscores the commitment of the banking business to the fight for a green future for our country".
As part of our cooperation with the public organization "My Forest Armenia," which is dedicated to restoring Armenia's green lungs, bank employees have begun collectingof oak seeds in natural forests of Gegharkunik region. According to the organizers’ plans, about 20,000 seedlings will be planted on an area of 6 hectares, which will eventually turn into a large forest area named after Ardshinbank, which will absorb about 150 tons of CO2 emissions over 30 years.
"Forests are a vital issue for Armenia, because they are not only the beauty of our country, they are also the health of our people. Now we are at the very beginning of the journey, because a tree begins with a small grain, which, in order to turn into a real green treasure, has to go through a long and difficult path. Of course, there are some concerns about whether the seeds will sprout and whether the seedlings will survive. But we handed over our seeds to the reliable hands of professionals. We have already successfully worked with the organization "My Forest Armenia" on a similar project in the communities of Jrashen and Urasar in Lori region. The new project is a continuation of what was started and an opportunity for each of us to contribute to the restoration and enhancement of the forest fund of the Lori region, " said Ardshinbank board member, risk management director Lusine Nersisyan.
She expressed confidence that the action will not only give rise to a new forest, but will also further unite the Ardshinbank team, because its slogan is: "Together we are strong".
"150 employees went to Dilijan to collect seeds. Thus, with our joint efforts we managed to collect 108 kg of acorns. We look forward to the appearance of seedlings, and then a full-fledged forest. I have no doubt about this, just as I have no doubt that every tree planted is not only a new step towards a healthy future for the unique nature of our country, but also a step towards each other, because only together we are strong".
