Armenia extends housing program for retired military
YEREVAN, December 12. /ARKA/. Retired military personnel in Armenia who need housing will continue to receive apartments with state support. This decision was made at a meeting of the government on Thursday.
This program has been active since 2019. For this purpose, 5.7 billion drams were transferred to the off-budget deposit account opened for the Armenian Ministry of Defense. The program remained valid until December 1, 2024.
As of September 10, 2024, applications of some 657 beneficiaries had been approved. The total amount of assistance was 5.69 billion drams. Of this, 564 families received non-repayable state financial support through apartment purchase certificates (totaling 4.78 billion drams). The remaining balance amounted to 921.7 million drams.
Currently, the apartment purchase certificates issued to 93 beneficiaries have a one-year maturity. Meanwhile, the deposit account was valid until December 1 of this year.-0-
