YEREVAN, February 19. /ARКА/. A digital system for concluding employment contracts will be introduced in Armenia.

Zhora Sargsyan, Head of the Labor and Employment Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, said at a press conference on Wednesday that the change is in line with the package of amendments to the Labor Code that were adopted on December 4, 2024 and will become mandatory from January 1, 2026.

According to Sargsyan, almost all employment contracts from January 1, 2026, with the exception of a number of cases, will be concluded electronically.

“There will be a portal where employers will be able to enter and create an employment contract by filling in the required fields. This entire process will be carried out on the platform of the State Revenue Committee,” he said, adding that the employer will have the right to add additional terms to the contract in agreement with the employee, if necessary.

According to him, after filling out the form, the employer puts his electronic signature or can authorize someone to do so on his/her behalf.

"The person who submits (an application) for work will receive a notification to his/her e-mail that the contract has been created, and if they agree with all the points of the contract, they will also sign it electronically. All this will happen on the platform," Sargsyan said.

The head of the department also said that with the introduction of this system, the problem of compliance of employment contracts with labor legislation will be solved, that is, if the employer incorrectly fills in the mandatory fields, he will not be able to complete the process.

"With the introduction of this system, the parties will be able to see their contracts and make changes to them. From July 1, 2025, the relationship between the employer and the employee will be built only on the employment contract," he said, adding that in cases where there is importance from the point of view of confidentiality, contracts will not be concluded on this platform. -0-
