YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Illegally acquired property worth 5 billion drams has been returned to Armenia in a short period of time, said Srbuhi Galyan, Minister of Justice of the country.

“A new tool has been introduced in Armenia, which has already proven effective. We studied international practices, where it typically takes 7 to 10 years to establish such mechanisms. We have managed to achieve significant results in a much shorter time,” Galyan said at a press briefing following a government meeting.

The minister specified that there are about 120 criminal cases in the courts related to the return of property, funds, and shares in legal entities.

Additionally, Galyan noted that there are court decisions that have not yet taken effect and are under appeal. The total amount of financial claims in these cases exceeds 2 billion drams.

Work on returning illegally acquired property is ongoing.
