Armenia and Israel set to intensify cooperation in healthcare
YEREVAN, July 1, /ARKA/. Israel's rich experience in healthcare system and reforms implemented in Armenia's healthcare system allow expanding cooperation between the two countries, Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan said Thursday at a meeting with Israeli's new Ambassador to Armenia Joel Lion (residence in Jerusalem). Honorary Consul of the State of Israel to Armenia Ashot Shahmuradian was present at the meeting.
During the conversation, Avanesyan presented the general state of Armenia's healthcare system and highlighted a number of directions for activating Armenian-Israeli contacts in the healthcare system, such as exchange of experience on creating a better model of the healthcare system, increasing the effectiveness of prevention and control of cardiovascular and non-infectious diseases by improving the skills of specialists, as well as in pharmaceutics, exchange of experience between emergency medical response teams.
The Israeli Ambassador welcomed the efforts to activate the Armenian-Israeli cooperation. He suggested discussing the possibility of organizing exchanges of experience and trainings for Armenian specialists in cooperation with MASHAV, Israel's international cooperation agency.
Lion pointed out that during her visit to Israel to attend the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe in September, Mrs. Avanesian will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the particularities of the Israeli health care system. --0--
