Armenia cancels perpetual licensing of medical institutions

YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. The Armenian parliament has passed today in the second and final reading a set of amendments to the law On Licensing, which annul perpetual licensing of medical institutions.

New licenses will be valid for five years. The goal of the amendments is to ensure the professionalism of personnel and financial security of medical institutions.

The amendments envisage a transition period. First, the licensing procedure is to be applied to medical institutions in the capital Yerevan, and then extend to medical institutions in the regions of the country.

The amendments will go into effect in 12 months so that government agencies, including the one that provides licenses prepare for the proposed changes. -0-
