YEREVAN, August 28. /ARKA/. The Armenian Defense Ministry denied claims made by Azerbaijan that Armenian forces allegedly opened fire on Azerbaijani positions in the southwestern part of the border zone on August 28 at around 6:45 AM. The Armenian defense ministry's press service issued a statement rejecting the accusation, stating that the report does not reflect reality.
The statement also recalled a proposal from the office of the Armenian Prime Minister to establish a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and related reports. This initiative aims to address and clarify incidents such as these through cooperative measures, rather than through conflicting reports.
