YEREVAN, July 12. /ARKA/. Along with extending the Covid-19 quarantine for another six months until December 20, 2021, the government of Armenia has also made some changes to the requirements for entering the country.

In particular, according to the Ministry of Health, the requirements for vaccination certificates have been simplified. Thus, in addition to the vaccination certificate provided via ArMed mobile application the travelers can present the certificate provided via another mobile app or present the printed version of the certificate from the application protected with a QR code.

"Travelers can also present another certificate, confirmed by the competent authority of the Republic of Armenia, based on the principle of reciprocity," the ministry said.

The nationwide quarantine was first declared on September 11, 2020 until July 11, 2021, replacing the six-month state of emergency declared to stop the spread of coronavirus.

According to the ministry, the extension of the quarantine is aimed at reducing the risk of the spread of coronavirus infection.

Earlier the World Health Organization (WHO) warned of a possible fourth wave of COVID-19 in the world.

In the meantime, Armenian health officials have recorded 71 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, saying the total number of confirmed cases rose to 226,459 as of Monday morning.

According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, three persons have died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours. The total tally of such deaths is now 4,547.

Some 73 patients have recovered. Overall, 3,516 people have tested for the infection in the last 24 hours, it said. Two persons with confirmed coronavirus have died during that time span from other diseases. The number of such deaths is now 1,108.

In total, 1,238,211 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of 3 million since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected. Since then 217,731 patients have recovered, and 3073 patients are being treated currently at hospitals and their homes.-0-
