Armenia launches unified e-ticket system for museums
YEREVAN, August 23. /ARKA/. Armenia has launched its Unified Automated Electronic Ticketing System website, museumsarmenia.am, starting with ticket sales for the large-scale exhibition "The Mother of God: From Anahit to Mariam." The platform was presented during an event attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, on Friday.
The exhibition, set to open at the History Museum of Armenia in Yerevan on September 21, 2024, will feature a range of artifacts, including a bronze bust and hand of the goddess Anahit, on loan from the British Museum. The exhibition will showcase the History Museum of Armenia's collection related to the Mother of God, spanning from ancient times to Christianity and the present day.
"It is no coincidence that we are launching this platform with ticket sales for the exhibition 'The Mother of God: From Anahit to Mariam'; it is highly symbolic," noted Minister Andreasyan during the website's presentation.
She emphasized that the platform provides new opportunities for Armenian museums to engage with visitors, highlighting that the service is highly accessible.
"Through this site, every citizen will be able to obtain comprehensive information about museums, temporary exhibitions, and also purchase tickets via the electronic platform," Andreasyan said.
The Minister added that the modern e-ticketing system allows visitors to enter museums by scanning barcodes.
The website also features a section dedicated to the sale of souvenirs, and the system is particularly convenient for tour operators, who can use the information to plan and offer tour packages.
Andreasyan also announced that the platform will enable the purchase of unified tickets for visiting multiple museums.
"Through this electronic platform, we will also enhance the ability of museums and reserves to generate their own revenue, which can then be reinvested into the development of museum activities," the Minister added.
