Armenia's Covid-19 cases exceed 160,000

YEREVAN, January 5. /ARKA/. Armenian health authorities have recorded so far as many as 160,220 confirmed cases of coronavirus since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected, according to the Ministry of Health.
The number of new cases has increased by 324 over the past 24 hours and another 14 people have died from COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 2,878.
A total of 928 patients have recovered in that time span, and 1,601 people have been tested for Covid-19. One person infected with the disease has died of other cause. The total number of such cases is now 692.
Since last year a total of 600,306 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of less than 3 million. Some 145,759 patients have recovered and 11,215 patients are being treated currently in hospitals and their homes.
On September 11, the Armenian government replaced the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus, with nationwide quarantine regime that will be in force until January 11, 2021. -0-
