Armenia's labor and social affairs minister resigns

YEREVAN, April 23. /ARKA/. Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Mesrop Arakelyan said he has tendered his resignation letter.

In a Facebook post he said he had assumed this responsibility for the sole purpose of eliminating the social catastrophe the country faced as a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

'Today we can state that Artsakh has overcome the social crisis, having entered the stage of housing development programs. In this connection I express my satisfaction and consider the main social challenges to be overcome,” Arakelyan said.

He said also that the solution of the priority social problems of citizens who were wounded during the war, the process of providing them with prosthetics is on a sufficient basis.

Mesrop Arakelyan was appointed to the post in November 20, 2020, replacing Zaruhi Batoyan. –0--
