Armenia’s Malena wins Junior Eurovision 2021with “Qami Qami”
YEREVAN, December 20, /ARKA/. Armenia’s Malena won Junior Eurovision 2021 on Sunday in Paris with “Qami Qami”.
The highest mark - 12 points - was given to Armenia by two countries - Poland and Portugal. The singer from Armenia received 10 points from Germany, France and Spain, and 8 points from Serbia. According to the results of the online voting, Armenia received 109 points.
Armenia gave its 12 points to Georgia. Malena performed at number 9. The dynamic performance of the young Armenian singer was delivered by a dance group and was accompanied by a colorful light show.
Armenia came third with the professional juries behind France and Poland, but managed to finish first overall by topping the online vote. The public ranked Poland and Portugal second and third.
“Qami Qami” is a space-pop number composed by Maléna herself, as well as David Tserunyan, the head of the Armenian delegation at Eurovision; Tokionine, head of the record label TKN and former national final representative in 2020; and Vahram Petrosyan, composer of “Boomerang”, the Armenian entry for Junior Eurovision in 2017.
The competition was attended by singers and groups from 19 countries. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will be held in Armenia. -0-
