Armenia has temporarily suspended its visa-free travel regime for Chinese citizens from February  1 until March. 31, over the coronavirus outbreak.

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Armenia has temporarily suspended its visa-free travel regime for Chinese citizens from February  1 until March. 31, over the coronavirus outbreak.

"Taking into account the epidemic situation caused by the coronavirus, the visa-free travel regime for Chinese citizens will be suspended from February  1 until March. 31," Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said in a Facebook post.

The visa-free travels between Armenia and China, which entered into force on January 19, 2020, applies to tourist visits lasting 90 days a year. Citizens whose visit will last longer than the specified period must apply every 180 days for permission to extend their stay in the country.

According to the latest data from China's State Committee on Hygiene and Healthcare, the number of people with pneumonia caused by the 2019-nCoV virus grew to 9,692 and some 213 people died. WHO recognized the outbreak of coronavirus in China as an international emergency. -0-
