YEREVAN, December 13 /ARKA/. The government of Armenia will put emphasis on the construction of modular, earthquake-proof schools, the acting First Deputy Prime Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told a government meeting today after it approved the list of 26 schools, whose seismic resistance is to be improved in the first place. Under the program, these schools will either be repaired or rebuilt.

Acting Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Suren Papikyan said the list includes a total of 46 schools. According to him, the program, which has been implemented since 2015, was to have  $107 million budget, of which $88.5 million were to come from international assistance and $18.5 million from the government  budget.

"We put emphasis on the construction of modular schools, which are interesting both from the aesthetic point of view and the overall atmosphere, including their color, which stimulate children to learn," said Mirzoyan.

He said the advantage of the modular schools is that depending on the community, different types of schools could be assembled, which would also promote the cultural and sports life of the community. -0-
