Armenia to postpone cryptocurrency regulation
YEREVAN, October 18. /ARKA/. Armenian parliamentary committee on state and legal issues has approved today in the second reading a set of amendments to the law on fighting cybercrimes, designed to step up and intensify this fight.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan noted that between the first and second readings, several changes were made to the draft law regarding control over actions related to cryptocurrencies.
In particular, she noted that the Central Bank is preparing to begin legal regulation of cryptocurrency circulation, in connection with which it was decided to give banks and organizations time to prepare for the planned changes.
Therefore, the provisions of the draft law concerning cryptocurrencies will come into force on January 1, 2026. -0-
