Armenian regions see a month's worth of rain in one day, snow cover reaches 30 cm
YEREVAN, November 27. /ARKA/. From the evening of November 26 through the night of November 27, heavy precipitation was observed across Armenia, as forecasted, with snow in the mountains and foothills, according to the ‘’Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Centre’’.
In some areas of Aragatsotn, Lori, and Ararat regions, a month's worth of precipitation fell in one day. As of 7:00 AM on Wednesday, snow depth ranged from 10-28 cm in Lori, 15-30 cm in Shirak, the mountains of Kotayk and Aragatsotn, 10-20 cm in Gegharkunik and Vayots Dzor mountains, and 5-10 cm in the upper parts of Yerevan.
On November 27 and 28, the cyclone will weaken, but snowfall will continue in some regions of Armenia. By tomorrow evening, dry weather will settle across the country.
From November 28 to 30, nighttime temperatures will gradually decrease by another 5-8 degrees. -0-
