YEREVAN, March 17. /ARKA/. Sergo Karapetyan, Armenian agriculture minister, warned today farmers that air temperature will continue dropping in the country.
«Minus temperatures were recorded Wednesday night all over Armenia's territory,» he said.
In his words, the lowest temperature (minus 5-6) was recorded in Zvartnots, Parakar and Merdzavan.
He urged Armenian farmers to save their fruit orchards. He said smoke and irrigation will lessen their losses.
The minister said that fortunately trees didn't burst into blossom yet in some of Armenia’s areas.
«It is still early to gauge the damage inflicted by frost – this will become known in two or three days,»
Karapetyan said.
According to weather forecast agency, frost will remain in Armenia's valley areas from March 17 to 19.
Weather is expected to be sunny on March 21, but frost repetition on that day is not ruled out here. -0---
