Armenian Armed Forces conscript detained on suspicion of murder
YEREVAN, January 9. /ARKA/. A conscript of the Armenian Armed Forces suspected of killing an officer at a combat post has been detained, the Armenian Investigative Committee said today.
Earlier today, the Defense Ministry said that the body of contract officer Karen Karapetyan was found at around 06:20 a.m. at a combat position with a fatal wound inflicted from an automatic rifle.
According to preliminary data, the gunshot wound was inflicted on the officer by a serviceman on combat duty.
According to the investigation, the conscript was detained on reasonable suspicion of committing murder.
The Investigative Committee reported that the investigation is continuing. All necessary urgent investigative and other procedural actions aimed at clarifying all the circumstances of the case are being carried out. -0-
