Armenian Emergencies Ministry and Police budgets revised upward in 2022 - Ministry of Finance

YEREVAN, May 29. /ARKA/. Budget financing of Armenia's Emergency Situations Ministry and Police in 2022 exceeded the planned figures, Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan said today.
According to the minister, 14.2bln drams were earmarked for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, however, later its budget was revised upwards to 14.9bln drams, by 3.8% more than in 2021.
'As for the Police, 66.5 billion drams were planned to be allocated, but the actual financing was increased up to 80.9 billion drams,' the minister said during the discussion of the 2022 state budget execution. .
Armenia's Interior Ministry's secretary general Ara Fidanyan said the average salary of police officers in 2022, including bonuses, amounted to 289,000 drams. The number of women in the staff of the Ministry grew to 18.4%.
Fidanyan added that the Patrol Service will be introduced nationwide by the end of 2023. As for the National Guard, he said with the support of the Council of Europe, work has been launched to develop a list of weapons corresponding to the legislative package of the new service and international standards.
