YEREVAN, December 16. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a decision that raises minimum pensions and benefits from January 1, 2022.

Labor and Social Affairs Minister Narek Mkrtchyan said that the minimum pension will be raised to 28,600 drams from the current 26,500 drams; military disability pension for regular servicemen will be raised to 43,000 drams from the current 40,000drams for the first disability group, to 33,000 drams from 30,000 drams for the second disability group and to 30,000 drams from the current 27 thousand drams for the third disability group.

The military pension for the family members of the deceased soldiers of regular military service will increase from 27,000 drams to 30,000 drams.

Allowances for age, disability and loss of breadwinner will grow to 28,600 drams from the current 26,500 drams, and allowances for children with disabilities will make 37,000 drams from the current 26,500 drams.

According to the minister, it was also decided to raise childcare allowance up to 2 years from January 1, 2022 to 28.6 thousand drams (a 2.1 thousand dram rise). The amount of allowance for parents in rural areas will be 57.2 thousand drams.

"Another draft law, which will be presented at the next government session, is about assistance for birth of third and each subsequent child. Some 50,000 drams will be paid monthly until the child turns 6. This will also go into effect from January 1, 2022," he said. ($1 - 482.02 drams). --0-
