The salaries of employees of children's homes in Armenia will increase by an average of 30%, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

YEREVAN, April 23. /ARKA/. The salaries of employees of children's homes in Armenia will increase by an average of 30%, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

She recalled that as a result of reforms carried out in the field of protecting children and ensuring their right to live in a family, 623 children remain in 24-hour child care institutions, 457 of them in institutions of special type.

According to her, since January 1,  about 700 employees in care  homes have been receiving  higher salaries. She said also that the government will raise the salaries of employees of 5 children's homes to improve the quality of services.

According to her, the rise will apply to 230 people, whose average salary will increase by 30%. For example, the nanny’s salary will amount to 96 thousand drams, and the director’s salary will increase from 143 thousand drams to 231 thousand drams. On average, the minimum wages in this type of  institutions will make 130 thousand drams or increase by 23.9 thousand drams, and in special children’s homes they will increase by 18 thousand drams and amount to 174 thousand  drams.

“Thus, we not only solve social issues of employees, but also improve the quality of services provided in these institutions,” Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in turn. ($1 - 479.81 drams). –0—
