YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. A session of the Armenian government on Thursday decided to release additional funds for government-financed heart surgeries. Health minister Levon Altunyan noted that the ministry has streamlined a number of programs and the saved money in the amount of 194.5 million drams will be used to cover the shortage of resources for heart surgery services.
"As a result of streamlined expenses, we will be able to conduct additionally 220 heart operations," Altunyan said. The minister also said that parallel work is underway to reduce the cost of these operations.
