Armenian Health Ministry starts compiling cancer registry
YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. The Armenian Health Ministry has started compiling a cancer registry that will receive and collect data about cancer patients, Minister Anahit Avanesyan said on Wednesday.
She said the registry already contains data of about 30 thousand citizens. Based on the results of further work, the Health Ministry expects not only to increase the efficiency of detecting cancerous neoplasms, but also to assess whether this efficiency has increased in recent years.
She also reminded that the Radioisotope Production Center will be merged with the Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology.
'As a result, all oncology diagnosis and treatment services will be united, and the production of isotopes will be organized on a break-even basis,' she said.-0-
