Armenian NSS detains two officials of Gyumri administration on bribery charges

YEREVAN, October 28. /ARKA/. Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) said today that its employees have revealed that the deputy head of a department in the administration of the second-largest town of Gyumri, in charge of real estate management, had conspired with the head of the urban planning and architecture department.

According to the press service of the NSS, they had conspired to "present" a state-owned building to a citizen in return for an almost one million dram bribe (equivalent of $2000).

Half of the bribe was given to them on October 12, 2021, but immediately after receiving the remaining $900 on October 26, the persons who gave the bribe and the one who received it were detained by NSS officers.

It turned out that the officials of the real estate management department of the provincial administration of Gyumri had committed other illegal actions as well: particularly, they did not register illegal construction and did not start administrative proceedings in return for which they also received bribes from citizens.-0-
