Armenian parliament revises garbage collection fees
YEREVAN, June 24 /ARKA/. Armenian parliament has approved today in the first reading a package of amendments to the laws on removal and sanitary garbage collection and on administrative offenses, initiated by a lawmaker from My Step faction Gevorg Papoyan.

According to Papoyan, the approved changes set clear-cut prices of garbage collection for entrepreneurs managing certain types of buildings and premises, such as airports, parking lots, rest homes, etc.

He said the current laws say that in buildings in which more than one type of business activity is carried out, the fee for garbage collection is the highest. He said preserving the law in its current form creates an unfair and uncompetitive environment for those entrepreneurs who have different businesses in the same premises.

According to the deputy, the amendments suggest that in such cases the fee be calculated according to the standard tariff for each of the enterprises.

Papoyan noted that the current law does not regulate payment for unused buildings intended for doing business. According to the changes, the fee for such premises will not be charged. --0—
