YEREVAN, October 14. /ARKA/. Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office said today it has initiated the development of a strategy to combat crimes.

It says the analysis of crimes and their disclosure in recent years indicates that the nature of crimes has changed not only quantitatively but also qualitatively. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the motives of crimes have changed, their mechanisms have improved and crimes have become more coordinated and organized due to the use of modern technology.

"Such trends necessitate the use of new methods of counteraction, cooperation with law enforcement agencies, international cooperation to combat transnational crime," the agency says in a press release.

This in mind, the Prosecutor General's Office has initiated the development of a strategy to combat crime and for this purpose is currently studying international experience, adhering to the principle of a coordinated approach and preventive measures.

The Prosecutor General's Office hopes that interested professional circles and relevant public organizations will get involved in the process of creating the strategy by presenting their ideas with concrete proposals.

The development of the strategy to combat crime, as the Prosecutor General of Armenia Arthur Davtyan previously stated, is one of the main priorities of the department’s policy. --0--
