Armenian school curricula will be revised and the new one will be ready by 2023, Education and Science Minister Araik Harutyunyan said after the government’s meeting on Thursday.
YEREVAN, January 31 /ARKA/. Armenian school curricula will be revised and the new one will be ready by 2023, Education and Science Minister Araik Harutyunyan said after the government’s meeting on Thursday.
He said the idea is prompted by numerous complaints of parents that the children have to spend a lot of time on their classes and homework. In his words, other factors are inconsistency of curricula, teaching of various subjects with the same content. Most of all, parents complain that their children are extremely loaded, he said.
According to the minister, there are also problems with textbooks and the option of creating two-volume textbooks is being discussed, one for the first half and the second for the second half.
Harutyunyan said that with assistance from the World Bank and the European Union special teams will be created to review the curricula.-0-
