Armenian weather service forecasts snow and cold spell

Snow is expected to fall across most of Armenian provinces and the capital city Yerevan in the second half of January 23 and on January 24 and 25, the National Weather Service said today. On Sunday and Monday snowstorms with poor visibility and icy roads are expected in several regions, it said.

According to meteorologists, no precipitation is predicted for January 22, as well as for January 23 and 26 nights throughout the country. The winds will be blowing from south-west at a speed of 8-12 meters per second; on 23-24 January in some areas the speed will increase to 20-25 meters per second. Temperatures on January 23-26 will gradually decreases by 11-13 degrees.
In Yerevan, on Friday afternoon the air will warm up to 6-8 degrees Celsius, but over the weekend it will fall to from zero to 3 degrees Celsius and to 1-5 degrees below zero on Monday and Tuesday. -0-
