YEREVAN, June 21. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan handed bodies of two servicemen over to Armenia, the Armenian National Security Service reported on Friday.

“The Azerbaijani side handed over two bodies of Armenian servicemen, presumably killed in action in September 2022,” the authority said in a statement.

Azerbaijan attacked sovereign Armenian territory in the early hours of 13 September 2022 using mortars, artillery, missiles and drones. A total of 36 settlements inside internationally recognized Armenian territory were under attack, including the cities of Goris, Sisian, Kapan, Jermuk, and Vardenis. A total of 190 houses were destroyed or damaged, as were numerous infrastructure facilities, gas pipelines, and roads.

A total of 207 Armenian nationals are considered killed in action or missing, including four killed civilians. No less than 293 servicemen were wounded and around 20 were captured. Numerous instances of POW torture and abuse of corpse were also reported.
